About this cause:Parents who experience pregnancy loss from miscarriage, stillbirth, or newborn death can find it to be an extremely painful and lonely experience. Well-meaning family and friends may not completely understand their reactions and may not know the best ways to offer support.
As part of the Still Missed Program, an understanding and trained staff is available to those who have recently experienced the death of a baby. After the hospital stay, a member of the Still Missed staff follows up to see how the family is doing, both emotionally and physically. Our goal is to help parents find positive ways to cope and ultimately resolve feelings of grief. The Still Missed program offers: trained, experienced counseling staff; support for the entire family – parents, children and grandparents; monthly parent support group; quarterly grandparent support group; quarterly Spanish-speaking parent support group; monthly support group for those facing subsequent pregnancy after loss; lending library of grief materials; opportunity to help parents feel less alone and better understand feelings of loss; opportunity for you to help others in your community work through similar experiences; annual memorial remembrance service; and memorial garden.
