My mom and grandma always told me to be brave when staring adversity in the face. Never did I take it more to heart than when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011. Through the support of my family and friends I was able to be brave and get through a scary time in my life. Each year I run in the Washington, DC Race for Hope to raise money for brain tumor/cancer research. Every year I'm reminded of the hundreds of children and adults who need to be brave to fight these tumors and the treatments/side effects that often accompany a brain tumor diagnosis. Can you help someone else be brave?
