About this cause:Danielle Haines left this world on December 27, 2014. A woman of many nicknames, she was known as both Elle and Birdy (for her ability to seem like she was singing her way through life) to her friends and family. A beloved daughter and friend, complications from Marfan Syndrome finally claimed her life.
Marfan syndrome is a disorder that affects the connective tissue in many parts of the body. Connective tissue provides strength and flexibility to structures such as bones, ligaments, muscles, blood vessels, and heart valves. Many people with Marfan syndrome are tall and thin, with long arms, fingers, and legs.
In her honor and in her memory, we hope to raise funds for research and awareness of this genetic syndrome.
Because this syndrome can have serious cardiac complications, red has been chosen as one color for this Bravelet. Pink and soft blue were Elle's favorite colors.
We love you, Elle.
