About this cause:

Klinefelter syndrome is a genetic condition where males are born with an extra X chromosome, otherwise know as 47, XXY. Symptoms of Klinefelter syndrome may include speech delay, low muscle tone and poor coordination, learning disabilities, and tall stature. There may also be anxiety, depression, attention deficits, and social immaturity. Intellectual disability is not common but may affect a few. It is rare to have all symptoms. Due to lack of awareness and proper diagnosis, approximately 75% are never diagnosed. A Karyotype blood test can determine if a child has Klinefelter syndrome or any other X & Y chromosome variation. The goal of AXYS is to improve the lives of all those with Klinefelter syndrome to lead happier, healthier and more productive lives.
