cureCADASIL.org -- also known as CADASIL Association, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding research and growing awareness of the rare disease CADASIL. The association offers support for patients, their families and caregivers, friends, and anyone interested in learning more about CADASIL. This is an inherited disease often misdiagnosed as MS or other neurological disorders. CADASIL causes multiple strokes and TIAs in adults--even young adults--often without cardiovascular factors. Many CADASIL patients, once correctly diagnosed, can trace their symptoms back to their childhoods. CADASIL symptoms result from damage of small blood vessels, especially those within the brain. CADASIL patients have symptoms of seizures, migraines, dizziness and balance problems, vision disturbances, fatigue, and mood disorders that include anxiety, depression, and apathy.
