Super G.
Gabriel was born in 2012 with a very rare (only one in the world according to the Geneticist) form of aplastic anemia and bone marrow failure that was caused by a chromosomal deletion. After a scheduled C-section he was whisked off, intubated, and flown to another hospital by helicopter because he was purple, bruised from lack of platelets. He had a narrowed aorta as well and needed a blood transfusion and platelet transfusion immediately. 3 weeks in the NICU he came home and spent his first year of life getting blood transfusions every 2-4 weeks. At a year old we returned to the hematology department at the hospital where he had been flown to and started the Bone Marrow Transplant process. Thanks to his doctors, BMT donor, and prayer warriors he is a normal 2 year old now. He's our Super Gabriel and his brother, sis, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and prayer warriors adore him!
