Sarah's Brave Story
Posted on April 19 2017
In January of 2010, I woke up having trouble speaking and was numb on the right side of my body. I was only 24 years old and had no idea what happened. I went to bed feeling great and woke up scared and confused. After many tests, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I was fortunate enough to quickly regain my speech, and after some medication, regained feeling on my right side. I am now 31 years old and am currently on treatment. I am very fortunate for the treatments that are available today, and I am hopeful that we will soon find a cure. I decided to become a nurse when I left the hospital 7 years ago so I could help other people who are in similar situations as me. I couldn't be where I am today without my amazing fiance, family and friends to pull me through.
