Ann Adkins (Blankenship, for those of you who knew me in high school), is walking in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's in honor of my sister.

•My long story short: Walk to END Alzheimer's, I am! In the 2014 Piedmont Triad Walk to End Alzheimer's. My sister (Susan) retired from the US Air Force with 30 years of dedicated and active duty service (Saudi, Qatar and lastly two tours in Iraq). At her 2009 retirement in Minot ND, we noticed she misplaced her keys, credit card, pocket book quite often, but who hasn't? Susan would call home while a friend was at her house because she couldn't remember and they would provide the answers to our questions. Long story short, my sister is home so her family can take care of her!! Just 5 years ago she had over 300 Airmen reporting to her, now we have to remind her where things are at. Please donate and support me in the Walk to END Alzheimer's. My goal is to raise as much as I can!

I'm walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care and support.

Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.

I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.

Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
