Never Too Young

You are never too young to have a heart attack; I found this out the hard way. May 2008 I had a non-typical heart attack. There was no way this was happening to me I was only 41, I didn't have chest pains or any other pains that the general public associate with a typical heart attack. I went all day long with a nagging pain in my left back shoulder (I thought it was pluracy), still having the pain in my shoulder I went to my daughters softball game got home pain was still there. My oldest daughter says to me Mom you’re having a heart attack; I denied that fact and went on to bed. I did wake up in the middle of the night not being able to breath had some slight chest pain but still didn't think I was having a heart attack. My daughter called the ambulance; I denied treatment and said I would have my husband drive me to the hospital. I was having a heart attack but I was very lucky that I didn't have any damage, I did get 2 stints. Things could have been worse. I will live with heart disease the rest of my life, my cholesterol levels is controlled by medicine. My advice is to every woman and young lady out there if you even think you might be having a heart attack or someone tells you they think you are don't hesitate and get to the ER as soon as possible to be checked out, never be embarrassed it just might save your life.
