My daughter, Ayden

Posted on June 03 2015

My daughter, Ayden
My beautiful, talented and amazing daughter, Ayden Burdo, died by suicide in 2013 when she was 19. She was a force to be reckoned with and was vibrant in every sense of the word. She loved music, coloring her hair every color of the rainbow, poetry, art and photography and would often do photo shoots of friends and family. She is loved and missed more than words can describe. Her family and friends have joined with The American Foundation of Suicide Prevention and The Out of the Darkness Community Walks and together, we work to raise the important and necessary funds needed to continue the important research for suicide awareness and prevention. In 2013 suicide claimed 41,149 lives in the United States alone, with someone dying by suicide every 12.8 minutes. Suicide is an epidemic in this country that claims more lives than war, murder and natural disasters combined, yet suicide does not get anywhere near the funding given to other leading causes of death. When you donate to Roses 4 Ayden or purchase one of these beautiful bracelets, you join efforts with thousands of people nationwide to raise money for research and education programs to prevent suicide and saves lives. My daughter is more than how she died, but I do not want families to have to feel the pain of losing someone they love to suicide. Suicide IS preventable, and together, we can make a difference. Hope saves lives.
