My Brave Mother
Posted on January 16 2017
The one thing that did amaze me through this whole experience, was her strength and she never showed us any different. No matter what she kept smiling, she never let us see her down. Though i felt my whole world was crashing into pieces the day they told us that there was nothing more they could do for her. She said these words to me “ I am Brave and you need to be too”! I knew she was , but I never thought that I could be.
For years ago I started having some health issues of my own. I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease , spinal stenosis and osteoarthritis . Eight back surgery’s later and now living with a Spinal cord stimulator for pain. though i didn't go through half of what my mother endured , I now know what it means to be BRAVE.
This past year I had the pleasure of meeting the founder of Cops Fighting Cancer. Hearing his story and understanding his mission to help others and seeing first hand has once again taught me and reminds me what it truly means to BE BRAVE.
