Being diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s disease was hard enough, but disclosing it to my patients and to my community was even harder. As a physician, I had great concerns that I would be stigmatized by this diagnosis. As it turns out, I have made many many new friends and have been a strong advocate because I am a physician for others with this diagnosis. I am now on the Patient Advisory Council for the MJFF and have raised over $300,000 for PD research. I am proud of all of the work that I have done. I share with you a video given to us the night before our big fundraiser in sept. 2012.life is good….you just have to always make sure that your glass is half full and not half empty.
