At age 36 I was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer. I had 3 young kids and instead of curling up in a ball I fought. My doctor said I only had about 3 months to live. But I knew I could not let my kids grow up with out a mom. So right then and there I told everyone this is not what would kill me. I did radiation, chemo and then had a lobectomy. It was hard and I got down, but every time I had my pitty party I would think of my kids and pull my self up dust my self off and get down to business of getting well. One good thing that came of this was my doctor said he learned to never discount what a patient told him about never giving up. He has used my story with some of his other patients. I really believe that a very positive attitude is one of the big things beside my never wavering belief in God that got me through this. I just celebrated my 9 year new birthday. I have been cured. Just remember never give up, no matter what anyone says. I hope this might help someone out there.
