Cystic Fibrosis: IT CAN BE DONE!
Posted on October 22 2012
It can be done! I recently turned 43. It is an age I never thought I would see. Living with Cystic Fibrosis is hard work, but do-able. It requires getting up earlier than everyone else to do your vest / neb treatments. It means staying away from friends and family when they don’t feel good, so you don’t get sick. It means, worrying, a lot about ‘how you feel’ and evaluating your health….”is this a cold or is it CF related?” It means ALWAYS needing health insurance, even when you are too sick to work. It means regular doctor visits and test. It means participating in the occasional drug study, to help conquer this disease.
But it can be done and you can live a great, great life! You CAN have a family. You CAN have friends. You can run, jump, and live life to the fullest, if you are willing to put in the work.
I am a 43 year-old mother of 2 adopted boys. My husband runs a construction company and I farm. I love to show livestock and be outside. Even with allergies….IT CAN BE DONE. Be postive. Be BRAVE!
