Brain Cancer

Posted on December 14 2012

Who is the bravest person you know? My mother is the bravest person I know, and not because she acquired tuberculosis while deployed overseas to hold sick orphaned babies that no one else would touch. Or because she spent 20 years in the military, deployed more than once to serve and protect her country. Or because she adopted her three grand-nieces who needed a home when their biological parents were no longer able to take care of them. Or because she lost her son to a brain tumor when he was only 14 years old. It is because she has endured all of these things, and yet has time to be a loving mother and a supportive wife. She is the happiest person I know, and despite everything she has gone through, believes that there is a higher purpose and that people are good. She inspires me and every one in her life every day with the person that she is. I am truly honored to have such a brave, strong woman as my mother.
