Be brave, Be beautiful.

Posted on August 09 2012

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was just 19. It was a hard thing to digest considering I was starting college and branching out into the world. I was emotionally and mentally scared from the side effects of PCOS: The weight problems, the hair growth, the threat of diabetes and cancer. I cannot convey the pain of being different in such a profound way. Now, almost ten years later, I am awaiting news from my doctor on whether or not I have ovarian cancer. Through it all, I have remained strong. I have researched and learned and followed up. I am not completely healed, but I am no longer afraid of what may come. I am not afraid to say “I have PCOS and I’m still human.”Be brave, be beautiful <3
